Hurricane Ian slammed into the Gulf Coast of Florida during the day Wednesday, hitting as a powerful Category 4 storm.

And while the storm will have impacts on us up here in South Carolina and North Carolina, it will likely not be nearly as catastrophic as what has happened so far in Florida.

These images serve as a powerful reminder of what these storms can do, and we encourage you to prepare as best as you can for storms like this. We will add to this gallery as images start to come in Thursday. To find out more how you can help with recovery efforts, visit here.

Our Thursday morning update has been posted about impacts expected for our region. You can read that here.
