REO Speedwagon: Set List From Their Final Show
REO Speedwagon performed their final show on Dec. 21 at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas.
Per Setlist.fm, the set list began the band performing their hit 1980 album Hi Infidelity and followed by some of the band’s biggest hits in their career. The encore featured “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and, aptly, “Roll With the Changes.”
News of REO Speedwagon ending touring broke in September with the reason being “irreconcilable differences” between bassist Bruce Hall and singer Kevin Cronin. At that time, Hall said in a statement, “Never ever thought it would end like this and I’m heartbroken. Please know Neal and I did everything in our power to try and keep the Wagon rolling. I am so appreciative of ALL the amazing love & support.”
In October, Cronin issued a statement saying, “I will always hold out hope that REO Speedwagon can be rescued. This band is my life’s work, and I would never do anything except what I feel is in REO’s best interests. But in any case, I am going to make the most of the rest of our 2024 tour dates. I love this band and I love our loyal fans, and I will be giving my 100% effort to the upcoming shows.”
Cronin later told Billboard this month, “Never in my wildest dreams did I ever see this coming … The simple answer is that REO Speedwagon at this point is a three-person partnership…and I have one vote.” (In addition to Hall and Cronin is keyboardist Neal Doughty, who himself retired from touring in 2023.)
Cronin added, “So if I get outvoted then I have to accept that, whether I like it or not. I’ll be honest with you — I don’t like it. But I have to accept it…I would do everything in my power to be able to continue with REO Speedwagon but, when a vote is taken, you have to live with the results.”
