Guns N’ Roses is finally being honored by the Recording Academy. Their iconic debut album, Appetite for Destruction, has been announced as part of the 2024 Grammy Hall of Fame induction class.
GN’R’s classic 1987 album is one of 10 recordings that are being recognized by the Grammy Hall of Fame. Other recordings being honored include Lauryn Hill’s 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Donna Summer’s single “I Feel Love” and The Doobie Brothers’ single “What a Fool Believes.”
Grammy.com notes, “The inducted recordings, which will be added to the iconic catalog residing at the GRAMMY Museum, will be honored at GRAMMY Museum’s inaugural GRAMMY Hall Of Fame Gala and concert, presented by City National Bank, taking place Tuesday, May 21, at the NOVO Theater in Los Angeles. Tickets for and performers at the Gala will be announced at a later date.

-Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal: Use Your Illusion I (34th Annual Grammy Awards)
-Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal: “Live And Let Die” (35th Annual Grammy Awards)
What’s Next for Guns N’ Roses?
Currently, GN’R is taking a break from the road. However, in December 2023, they did release a new single titled “The General.”
Embedded below, the band debuted the song during their Nov. 2, 2023 show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Fans can listen to “The General” below. Meanwhile, it’s available for streaming/download here.
“The General” is the fourth new song Guns N’ Roses has released since Slash and Duff McKagan returned to the band. “Absurd” was the first new song and came out in August 2021. About a month later, the band released “Hard Skool.” The third song released was “Perhaps,” which came out in August 2023. All four tracks are outtakes from the recording sessions of Chinese Democracy.
