Miller High Life Launches Dive-Bar-Scented Christmas Tree Decoration

The Christmas season always seems to compel companies to think outside the box with their holiday offerings. Often times they’ll come out with products and goodies that fall into what I like to call the “how-the-hell-is-there-a-market-for-this” category.
This new holiday decoration from Miller High Life will definitely take up seasonal residence in the “how-the-hell-is-there-a-market-for-this” category. It’s called the Merry High Light, a two-and-a-half-foot neon Miller Christmas tree that makes for a perfectly tacky centerpiece on your table, countertop, or toilet.
Not only will its bright neon luminescence give your home the look of a dive bar. According to this report from Food and Wine, the Merry High Light is “infused with the scent of sweet tobacco” to make your dwelling SMELL like a dive too.
And of course, topping the tree is the Miller High Life logo, presumably so guests will know who’s responsible for the assault of two of their five senses upon entry.
The Merry High Light was introduced as a way to celebrate the company’s 120th anniversary. You would think a company that champions themselves as “The Champagne Of Beer” would go for something less kitschy to celebrate such a milestone.
Don’t get me wrong, I love dive bars. In fact, some of my best night out stories (the ones I can remember at least) happened at dives. I’m just not sure I want my home to look AND smell like one, y’know?
