The Wedding Favor Trend For 2023: Tattoos For Your Guests
Forget the gift bags and commemorative shot bottles, because tattoos are the hottest wedding favor of 2023! A now viral video on TikTok has been circulating this week of a tattoo artist hired to ink up some wedding guests during cocktail hour. The artist charged $60 for the wedding tattoos and only did simple outline work, and from the line of people in the video it’s clear that the idea was a hit!

The video was met with mixed reactions in the comments, with some praising the idea while others dismissed it as irresponsible and even dangerous. The comments have now been turned off by the author, but In The Know was able to gather some of the more notable reactions. “The amount of random tattoos I would leave with. Omg.” being one of the more positive reviews of the stunt. Others weren’t quite as generous, stating things like, “Normally you only wake up the next day with a sore head — this takes regrets to a whole new level.”
Some concerns were also raised over artists potentially tattooing wedding goers who may have had a few too many beers. Though as a general rule most artists will refuse to tattoo anyone who’s clearly drunk. In the comments of another viral wedding tat video, an artist also clarified that any guest who wanted a tattoo had to sign a waiver confirming they weren’t under the influence.

But even with those safeguards in place, some people in the comments seem to think it’s potentially unsanitary, and just generally in poor taste. Personally as someone with quite a bit of ink myself, I like the idea. As long as it’s done safely with a credible artist and sterilized equipment, I don’t see the harm in it. But ultimately it’s YOUR wedding day so do what you want!
