Snow Chances Increase as Advisory Issued for Lee, Harnett Counties
The National Weather Service has increased the chance of snow in the region, as Winter Weather Advisory’s have been issued for Lee and Harnett Counties. The current projection also shows at least a dusting of snow in the Fayetteville area between midnight and 8 a.m., Thursday.

The City of Fayetteville also issued an advisory that encouraged residents to be safe should conditions worsen.
From the City of Fayetteville:
City of Fayetteville staff members want residents, commuters and visitors to be alert and drive safely at all times. We do not expect snow to accumulate in our area but City crews will respond to weather-related calls and change schedules, if needed. Roads could be slick if you see winter precipitation during the overnight hours. “In the event of bad weather or if road conditions deteriorate, we would like to remind drivers to slow down, increase their stopping distance, and limit any unnecessary travels until road conditions improve,” Sgt. Jeremy Glass said.
City Departments released the following updates:
Public Services (Street Maintenance)
3 sand spreaders with sand and salt staged, will dispatch if needed.
Crews will monitor bridges and overpasses.
On-call crews available.
Public Services (Solid Waste)
No change to collection schedule.
Leaders will monitor conditions and adjust as needed.
Fayetteville Area System of Transit
No plans to change service, at this time.
Leaders will monitor forecasts and local business plans.
FAST leaders will attempt to give customers two hours notice if service will be suspended.
Fayetteville Regional Airport
Current flight schedules and Airport operations remain on schedule.
Travelers are encouraged to contact their airline for updated flight status.
