Zoom is Down For Many Users, Particularly on the East Coast
When we look back on 2020, the web conference call platform Zoom will undoubtedly be a part of many conversations. It’s been a lifeline for employees – and students – everywhere. So when Zoom goes down, that may be time for panic.
Gizmodo reported that a major zoom outage was impacting thousands of users across the East Coast. Zoom confirmed the outage and is updating their status page frequently.
“If you’re having trouble connecting to Zoom, we have identified the issue and are working on a fix,” Zoom said in a Tweet. “Please follow http://status.zoom.us for updates. We’re so sorry about the inconvenience.”

The website outage site Down Detector was reporting nearly 17,000 people saying Zoom was down around 10 a.m. EDT.
