North Carolina Zoo Opening Back Up Monday in Limited Capacity
The North Carolina Zoo is opening back up Monday, June 15 – but only in a limited capacity, with scheduled tickets.
“We’re ready to welcome y’all back on Mon, June 15th,” the zoo said in a Tweet. Capacity will be limited, so guests must reserve a spot for timed-entry & purchase tickets online.”
Several attractions will be closed as the zoo in Asheboro opens back up in a limited structure, and all guests must reserve a spot for timed entry. (Click here for more information on scheduling.)
“The biggest change is advance purchase of timed tickets for entry into the Zoo,” the zoo said in a release. “Walk-up entry is not available at this time; everyone must arrange their visit, including Zoo members or those holding previously purchased tickets. Any guests without an advance purchased timed-entry ticket will not be admitted into the Zoo.”
The zoo said the following exhibits and programs will be temporarily closed:
- Indoor habitats – this is Seabirds, Polar Bear Underwater Viewing and Ice Cave, Aviary, Streamside and Desert
- Indoor dining — outside dining is available
- Seasonal attractions — Giraffe Deck, Carousel, Butterfly Garden, VR Experience, Zoofari, Air Hike Ropes Course and Treehouse Trek
- Education Smart Carts, Kidzone and playgrounds
- Keeper Talks and Public Feeding Times
