Gayle King Reportedly Accepts Snoop Dogg’s Apology
As we previously reported, Snoop Dogg publicly apologized to CBS This Morning host Gayle King for his rant regarding the journalist’s interview with WNBA legend Lisa Leslie about the late Kobe Bryant, where King referenced Bryant’s rape allegations from 2003.
King has now reportedly accepted Snoop’s apology, as NBC News reports.“I accept the apology and understand the raw emotions caused by this tragic loss,” King said in a statement to NBC News. She added that it wasn’t her intention to cause pain while people were grieving Bryant’s Jan. 26 death in a helicopter crash that also took the life of his daughter, Gianna.
“As a journalist, it is sometimes challenging to balance doing my job with the emotions and feelings during difficult times. I don’t always get it perfect but I’m constantly striving to do it with compassion and integrity.”
“Two wrongs don’t make no right. when you’re wrong, you gotta fix it,” Snoop Dogg said in his apology to King that was shared via an Instagram post on Wednesday (Feb. 12).
“With that being said, Gayle King, I publicly tore you down by coming at you in a derogatory manner based off of emotions of me being angry at a question you asked. Overreacted. I should have handled it way different than that, I was raised way better than that, so I would like to apologize publicly for the language that I used and calling you out your name and just being disrespectful.”
