FLASHBACK: Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Provide Final ‘Moment Of Zen’ on ‘The Daily Show’
Bruce Springsteen celebrates his 70th birthday today (September 23), and while he’s tallied a number of memorable performances in recent memory, few were quite as poignant as the sendoff he and The E Street Band gave to Jon Stewart on his final episode of The Daily Show.
Stewart, a New Jersey native himself, has been an unabashed fan of The Boss for years, and per Stewart’s request, Springsteen performed “Land Of Hope And Dreams,” which then ended on a crescendo of “Born To Run” as the show’s closing “Moment of Zen” segment.
As far as final episodes go, it really doesn’t get much better than one of New Jersey’s favorite sons doffing his hat to another.
