Larry King Divorces Wife Shawn After Nearly 22 Years of Marriage
After almost 22 years of marriage, Larry King has filed for divorce from his wife, Shawn Southwick, who was the television hosts’ seventh wife, reports People.
Larry, 85, married Southwick, 59, on September 5, 1997. The former pair share two sons, Chance, 20 and Cannon, 19.
The Blast obtained court documents that revealed that King filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, August 20.
Irreconcilable differences were cited as the reason for the divorce, and the date of separation was noted as June 6, 2019.
According to sources obtained by People, the media icon was frustrated regarding an alleged yearlong affair that Southwick had been having.
“It’s true, and Larry is completely embarrassed and anguished by all of this,” one source close to the situation told People. “He doesn’t know what to do.”
Another insider told the publication that Southwick, who is a former TV host and singer, told her the person who she was allegedly having an affair with that her union to King was over.
In 2010, King also filed for divorce following a report that was published by the National Enquirer, citing that Southwick had an affair with one of the couple’s son’s baseball coaches, Hector Penate.
Penate eventually admitted to having the affair with Southwick. However, the two stayed together.
