Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan to Co-Headline 2019 Tour
Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan are taking their legendary tunes on the road together.
The soft rock and funk icons are co-headlining an American tour that kicks off in Huber Heights, Ohio at the Rose Music Center at The Heights on Feb. 16. The two will play 18 shows together, while Khan will also make a stop at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. McDonald, who is also a member of The Doobie Brothers will be touring solo prior to his trek with Khan. McDonald’s solo tour kicks off in Miami at the Fountainebleau Hotel.

Khan recently performed her single, “Like Sugar” from her latest album, Hello Happiness on the Graham Norton show in the UK on Feb. 1. The “Sweet Thing” singer tweeted that she had a “marvelous” time during the performance.

Hello Happiness is Khan’s 12th studio album. McDonald’s most recent full-length album was 2017’s Wide Open. Khan covered The Doobie Brothers’ “You Belong to Me” with McDonald on her 2007 album Funk This. Perhaps the pair will perform it live together while on tour.
