Ozzy Osbourne Details Recent Health Issues
Can you imagine after everything Ozzy Osbourne has done in his life, he was almost taken out by a staph infection?
That was the case for Ozzy, who’s been making headlines for the past couple of weeks due to various health issues that required surgery on his hand, which led to four canceled and rescheduled tour dates of his “No More Tours 2” world tour. However, The Prince of Darkness told Rolling Stone in a recent interview that he didn’t just have one staph infection in his right hand; he had three!
Sharon Osbourne took her husband to the emergency room when his right thumb had swollen to “the size of a f*ckin’ light bulb,” per Ozzy. He was feeling fine physically, but after doctors examined his thumb, they not only discovered three separate staph infections, but one of them had spread to his middle finger. This led to him being on drip and pill antibiotics and undergoing surgery where surgeons froze Ozzy’s thumb and literally cut out the infection, which Ozzy said, “Even with the numbing stuff, it was agony.”
So, how did Ozzy potentially contract these horrible infections?
“The doctor said to me, ‘Can you remember talking to someone and shaking hands?’ Well, I do that meet and greet at the gig and I must shake fucking 200 hands a day. He said, ‘That explains it.’”
Basically, if you attend an Ozzy meet and greet in the future, don’t be surprised if there’s plenty of hand sanitizer around. Regardless, it’s just good to know Ozzy’s officially on the mend.
