Heart Disease Risk High For Men Who Don’t Get Enough Sleep
Well here’s a reason you need more shut-eye. Men who don’t get enough sleep have a higher risk of heart disease.According to the study results, men who sleep five hours or less per night have twice the risk of developing a major cardiovascular event than those who get the recommended eight hours. The study, which focused on 50-year-old men, also shows the risk of high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, smoking, and low physical activity was elevated in those who sleep less hours.Researchers admit the results aren’t conclusive because it was an observational study, but say their findings “should be a wake-up call for all of us” to sleep more. How many hours do you sleep per night? How do you wind down at night before bed?
