This Unlikely Duo Just Dropped A Super Bowl Song For The Ages
We wouldn’t have imagined how awesome this would come out!
The Super Bowl this year will open with Carrie Underwood and Ludacris, who created a music video for their newest song “The Champion.”
It’s been a bit since we heard Ludacris spit on a track, but we know Carrie Underwood knows how to drive a vocally powered song, especially for the Super Bowl.
E! quotes Underwood from a statement saying “When we were writing ‘The Champion,’ our main focus was to celebrate athletes at the top of their game, but we also wanted the song to resonate with people in their everyday lives. We hope the lyrics will inspire people to push themselves beyond their limits to conquer anything they are trying to accomplish or overcome. There’s a champion in every single one of us!”
And while Ludacris’s statement echoed that it was a pleasure to work with Carrie, we have to wonder how much backlash he will receive seeing that he did a song for the NHL, which has had a lot of protests in regards to race in most of 2017.
