Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ Tour Vs. ‘1989’
Well, looks like the reign of Taylor Swift is feeling a little shaken.
Do you remember how in demand ‘1989’ was for ticket sales? Well, according to the New York Post, Taylor’s ticket sales are not doing so hot.
For someone who used to sell out stadiums in the blink of an eye, it looks as if now, the tour is struggling to pull in the sales.
New York Post quotes a Twitter user, who says “I paid $150 for my ticket with amazing seats for the 1989 tour. Now for the same seats I have to pay about $500,” Twitter user “swiftieloves” recently griped.”
NYP also says that if you look at Ticketmaster’s interactive seating charts, “Swift’s schedule of 33 dates for the North American “Reputation” tour has yet to produce a single sellout, from its May 8 launch in Phoenix to its Oct. 6 finale in Arlington, Texas.”
Some users are blaming Ticketmaster’s Verified Program, which is supposed to nix scalpers “which required participants to register weeks before tickets went on presale, proving they were bona fide fans and not bots looking to buy tickets for scalpers,” but also have hit snags with her fan program trying to “boost” themselves in the queue to get the tickets they want.
Maybe if the ticket sales aren’t doing so great, the verified program should be retired, especially if it seems to be hurting sales.
