Miley Cyrus, P!NK Release New Music Videos
A few new anthems for the growing generation.
Miley Cyrus – “Younger Now”
Miley Cyrus is driving home that change is inevitable, and that nobody stays the same. That she’s not afraid of who she was before, but everyone does change eventually. It’s been a spike of controversy for Miley, the fact that she ditched her black-appropriating twerk culture for this clean cut alt-pop, but she does have a point – no one stays the same.
I’m just more stuck on the fact that she seems to be mimicking Lady Gaga’s rockabilly pop phase.
P!NK – “What About Us”
In what comes off more political than what we’re used to from P!NK, it shows people crying and fearing existence in the first few segments before the music even starts. Continuing the choreography of past P!NK productions, dancers entertain an abandoned parking lot with a cop plane and car, flashing red, white, and blue lights, as she asks “What about love? What about us? What about trust?”
The contemporary dance style might be a little strange to those of us who don’t watch Dancing With The Stars, but it is both a thought provoking video, as well as an emotional one.
If Amy Cooper were a jelly doughnut, she would be a ‘Sarcasm-filled Doughnut.’
