Lin-Manuel Miranda Will Score the Live Action “Little Mermaid”
Lin-Manuel Miranda, the genius behind Hamilton, will lend his talents to the new, live action version of The Little Mermaid.
Details aren’t super clear yet, but this means the new version of everyone’s childhood favorite movie is sure to be amazing.
Miranda spoke to Vulture magazine about the project saying, “If this requires new music, I’m here for that, and if this requires me weighing in on who makes this thing, I’m here for that. If this requires me just saying, ‘That doesn’t look like it’s underwater,’ I’m even here for that! It’s going to be a huge challenge to not make it feel uncanny valley-ish.”
This isn’t Miranda’s first foray into the world of Disney. First, he co-wrote the score for super hit Moana, and then it was announced that he’d be starring in the Mary Poppins remake alongside Emily Blunt. We can’t wait to see his take on The Little Mermaid!
