If we’ve learned anything in the last few years, it’s that nothing is the same when it comes to our jobs, and starting a new business in 2022 is very different too.
There’s a lot to consider when you’re thinking about starting a new business, but fortunately there are a lot of opportunities out there now.
Business News Daily put together a list of 21 Great Small Business Ideas recently, and it got us thinking about our favorites.
“If you are thinking of starting a business in 2022, it is critical to take the new normal into account,” Max Freedman said in his BusinessNewsDaily.com piece. “The COVID-19 pandemic has changed so much about how people consume products and services. While starting a retail business or restaurant might have been good ideas previously, you might want to reconsider those thoughts until you see how the next year plays out. Instead of more traditional businesses, think about ones that can support how people live their lives now.”
We went through Max’s list and picked out some of the business ideas that jumped out to us most.

There are consultants in pretty much every business field now. So whatever you are good at, just show everyone else how to be as good as you are!
2. Online Reselling

There are so many ways to turn a profit selling things online. Whether you’re thrifting clothes or books or video games, there’s money to be made.
3. Medical Courier Service

If you’ve got a car and a good driving record, there’s money to be made out there. Especially if you’re willing to be a medical courier, delivering for labs, or patients, or drug stores. There are lots of opportunities.
4. Transcription Services

Don’t wanna leave home at all, and have good typing skills? Well, transcription services all over the place are needed. Start your business and get typing.
5. Cleaning Service

If you keep a good clean house or car, why not put those skills to use on other people’s houses, cars or even businesses?
6. Owning a Food Truck

Starting a full-fledged restaurant can be a big chore. But maybe starting a food truck would be better. If you can cook, and have a specific type of food you can make well, this might be the new business for you.
