It’s Easter Sunday – on the Christian Calendar, said to be the day Jesus rose to Heaven, rising from his death by Crucifixion on the Friday before, taking with him the sins of the world. April begins tomorrow! It’s also Child Abuse Prevention Month. Accordingly, April is an important month for Fayetteville’s Child Advocacy Center – a special community protector and treatment facilitator – using a highly developed multi-disciplined approach to providing help and hope where Child Abuse is detected and discovered in our community. Another steward of the Public Trust is the Cumberland Community Foundation, collector, custodian and distributor of donations to many Fayetteville Non-Profits. In fact, as Fayetteville’s Jersey Mike’s donated all sales this past Wednesday to six area 501c3’s, Jersey Mike’s in our area divided all sales receipts (thru the Cumberland Community foundation to Cape Fear Valley Hospital Foundation (supporting, among other things, the Cancer Center of Cape Fear Valley) –Operation InAsMuch for the Homeless, the Care Clinic for the uninsured, Fayetteville Police Foundation, Special Olympics, and the FTCC Foundation, making college degrees more accessible to members within our community.
