Cumberland County Opens Emergency Warming Centers, White Flag Shelters As Temps Drop
As freezing temperatures hit the area, Cumberland County Emergency Services has opened warming centers and White Flag shelters effective January 6. These locations will remain open during specific hours across several sites. The county has converted eight facilities - including libraries, recreation centers, and government buildings - into warm spaces for shelter. Main locations include the Social Services building on Ramsey Street, along with the Public Health building's first floor. https://www.facebook.com/CCNCGov/posts/pfbid0iwi5W5V6MdM99DdmeRN7nyVpicFP3u34P73XuYPRbhvXaP8zQWiA17tMtKnTWZycl?cft[0]=AZWRaLvUzf_LpNtl5iQTAaAHBSOw6ShxVqX2SVaetaRWYXAOSuJKzbuFD6nPrl03ULKnF813-YyvRne8khTiaNebA7MlQCTB2UibmPjPMeqjLe18g0ajuUPTHEu3YZXZsOyooV15_JrFtyirD6vzDLukgxyDeA5h5Z9xVXMD6-z2LD987wwyz7bkc88UkrZFfdU&tn=%2CO%2CP-R When evening comes and temperatures drop below freezing, True Vine Ministries on Morganton Road becomes the primary shelter for homeless individuals.
