Fayetteville and Sandhills Region Closures and Delays for Winter Weather

Patience paid off for snow lovers in our area, as Sunday morning showed off several inches of it throughout the region.

The downside to snow like this here, is that there are inevitably going to be several closures and delays for schools, businesses and more. We'll keep this page updated throughout the day as additional information comes in.

Cumberland County Schools will continue asynchronous remote instruction for students and a remote work schedule for staff on Tuesday, Feb. 3, as hazardous road conditions and ongoing cold temperatures persist.

All PSRC schools and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, due to inclement weather conditions. Stay tuned to official district social media channels and our website for updates on operations for Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Due to continued concerns with travel conditions in our area, Bladen County Schools will continue with asynchronous remote learning on Tuesday, February 3.

Columbus County Schools will conduct remote instruction on Tuesday, February 3, and Wednesday, February 4. During these virtual learning days, students should check Google Classroom for assignments and communication from their teachers.

Due to weather conditions, Harnett County Schools will operate on a remote learning schedule on Tuesday, February 3, for all students and staff.

With the continued frozen conditions on the roads in Hoke County, Hoke County Schools will have a remote learning day for all students on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Due to inclement weather and unsafe road conditions, all schools will operate on a remote learning day tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, for all students and staff.

After closely evaluating road conditions and in discussion with local emergency management officials, Richmond County Schools will continue to operate on a remote instructional day tomorrow, Tuesday, February 3, and an optional remote workday for staff.

Due to continuing concerns over adverse conditions, all campuses of Fayetteville Technical Community College will be closed on Tuesday, February 3 for students, faculty and staff. Classes will transition to remote learning for faculty and students.

Fayetteville city government offices will open to the public Tuesday, Feb. 3 at noon.

Updates/Changes to City Services:

- City offices will open at noon on Feb. 3. Residents are encouraged to call ahead to determine if services can be completed online.

- Solid Waste services will focus on household collections this week. Residents are encouraged to place carts at the curbside by 6 a.m. Solid Waste crews will pick them up as quickly as possible, as road conditions permit.

- No yard waste will be collected this week. For any additional updates, including recycling, please visit FayettevilleNC.gov/SolidWaste

- Fayetteville Area System of Transit services will begin at noon, and will operate on a Sunday schedule, meaning services will be limited. There will be no services operating Routes 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 19, 31 and X1. Passengers are advised to plan accordingly, allowing for additional travel time to and from destinations. - Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation facilities and gated parks will open at noon. Recreation centers will act as warming centers until 7 p.m. All FCPR recreation centers and facilities will close at 7 p.m.

- Passengers traveling through the Fayetteville Regional Airport are encouraged to contact their airline directly for any questions on flight schedules.

- The Day Resource Center will operate on a delayed scheduled, opening at 10 . Services will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be provided from noon until 1:30 p.m.

- Street crews have been working continuously along with NCDOT, assessing and treating the roadways throughout the City. It is important to note that shaded and elevated areas, including bridges and culverts, could still present extremely slippery conditions and residents need to take extra precautions when driving.

Government operations for the Town of Hope Mills will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday February 3, 2026 at 12:00pm.

This delayed opening will allow additional time for roadway conditions to improve and for safer travel for both staff and citizens. Town staff will continue to monitor conditions throughout the community.

County offices, the Court system, and County-operated warming centers will open at 12 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

Fort Bragg will return to normal operations on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

All service members, the civilian workforce and contractors should report to work at their normal duty time. If you anticipate delays or are unable to report to work, please contact your chain of command or supervisor for further instructions.

Personnel are advised to watch out for BLACK ICE on roads and walkways. It's nearly invisible but dangerously slippery. Reduce speed, keep a safe distance and use proper footwear. Stay safe and vigilant!

Child and Youth Services facilities will open at 8 a.m.

Fort Bragg Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay.

WAMC will return to normal operating hours on Tuesday, Feb 3. If you have an appointment, please take your time traveling. If you feel unsafe driving from your location, due to local road conditions, please contact your clinic to reschedule as soon as possible. See you soon. This includes DENTAC, the outlying primary care and specialty clinics, clinic pharmacies, pharmacy annex, main outpatient pharmacy, the Womack Health and Support Services, Medical One Stop, the Intrepid Spirit Center, Fayetteville Rehabilitation Center and the Blood Donor Center and Public Health. Surgeries will occur as scheduled. Patients scheduled for a GI procedure (i.e. colonoscopies, EGD’s) should report at your scheduled time. Fast Track (Urgent Care) will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. You may also speak with a healthcare Advice Line Nurse 24/7 by calling 1-800-TRICARE, Option 1.

Moore County Governmental Offices will OPEN at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
