Mike's Plumbing of Fayetteville invites you to save a life and donate blood during their upcoming Blood Drives on August 1st and 2nd.
The actual dates for the Blood Drives at Mike's Plumbing, 3262 King Charles Road, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28306 are:
- Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
- Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 12noon until 4:00 p.m.
- Friday, August 2, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Are You Eligible To Donate Blood?
In order for you donate blood, you must meet a few requirements. The requirements are:
- You must at least 17 years of age to donate
- Based upon a signed parental consent, 16 year-olds will be allowed to donate
- You must weigh at least 110 poundsYou must be in good general health
- In order to donate, you must have proof of identification
- If you are already a blood donor, thank you!
- You may donate blood every 56 days
- Platelets can be donated every two weeks
- Double red-cell donations can be made every 16 weeks

A Few Things To Remember:
- Your donation of a pint of blood could save as many as 3 lives
- Give yourself at least one hour in order to donate
- Here in the U.S., someone needs blood every 2 seconds
- There are 4 main types of red blood cell types. The types are A, B, AB and O. Each can be positive or negative for the Rh factor. AB is the universal recipient; O negative is the universal donor of red blood cells.
5 Vacation Bible School Programs Still Left Around Fayetteville This Summer
With summer nearing its end, you may be looking for somewhere your child can get in some Vacation Bible School around Fayetteville before school starts back up in August.
There are still many opportunities to find VBS programs in and around Fayetteville. If you're not already familiar, VBS is a summer program many churches run for kids, with fun themes, games, and lots of celebrations.
Most of the programs are designed for elementary-aged children, but it varies by church, so make sure to look at the details. Times also vary, with some as daytime programs, but some taking place in the evening.
Among the programs still left this summer, are those at Village Baptist Church Riley Road Campus. That program runs from July 29 through August 1, and signups are due by July 24. Just click here and get signed up today.
