North Carolina Beach Voted No. 1 in the State
Beach season is on the way, which is always a good thing in North Carolina. This state has some of the best beaches in the country, and North Carolina is really know for those beautiful, sandy beach land. Now, one North Carolina beach has been voted the favorite in the state. It’s one you might be familiar with, too. I’m happy to see this spot get some major attention.
Favorite North Carolina Beach
Axios.com recently put out a survey asking people to vote for their favorite beach in North Carolina. “Thousands of you have weighed in on with your favorite beaches in North Carolina,” and they add that the beach that won wasn’t ever in question, because it always got way more votes than the competition. Moreover, they did a bracket-style contest, so each time a round of beaches beat the other beaches in their bracket, it went to a new round. The runner-up, if you’re interested, is Emerald Isle. They beat out Nags Head/Kitty Hawk/Kill Devil Hills with a 56% margin to get to that final matchup.
So, what’s the North Carolina beach that was voted the favorite in the state? It’s Wrightsville Beach. “Wrightsville Beach offers something for everyone, and — maybe most importantly — it’s the closest beach to Raleigh,” Axios points out in the poll. The beach is four miles long. It’s known for being very walkable and having lots of shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy. “Its waves are among the most popular for surfing in the state,” they add. So, there you have it. When you’re planning your next beach adventure, give Wrightsville Beach a try. A few other beaches that did well in their poll include Bald Head Island, Oak Island, Ocracoke, Duck, Sunset Beach, Atlantic Beach, Ocean Isle and others. It’s great to see the Axios readers giving all of these beaches such love.
