North Carolina: These Are the Best Towns to Visit in 2024
It’s time to start planning your spring and summer trips, because travel season is right around the corner. Traveling far away to distant places can be cool. But, why not stay local this time? Doing a more local vacation can have a lot of benefits. It’s usually cheaper, which is a good thing. You can also save on airfare. Sometimes, hotels are cheaper, too. Of course, it can also be really fun to explore a new city near you. I love finding new areas and trying new things close to home. In that spirit, World Atlas has put together a list of best towns in North Carolina to visit this year.
World Atlas praises North Carolina in the feature, calling it “an important region of America’s East Coast.” Duh. They also sing North Carolina’s praises, stating, “With its stunning ocean views, beautiful natural features, and intriguing American history, North Carolina and its welcoming towns are undoubted treasures for any traveler.” They add, “Whether taking in the seaside breezes or soaking up some famed Southern charm, a sojourn to some of North Carolina’s loveliest towns is a great way to get acquainted with Americana.”
So, World Atlas has highlighted a handful of North Carolina towns that they think are the best places in the state to travel in 2024. The first spot they highlight is West Jefferson. This is a small, charming town of just over 1,000 people. Of the spot, World Atlas states, “It maintains a genuine feeling of old-world charm, all within the stunning framing of the Appalachian Mountains.” Another city they highlight is McAdenville, calling it “Christmas Town USA” and “one of the best examples of genuine community spirit in action.” More of the best towns in North Carolina to visit in 2024 include Banner Elk, Little Switzerland and Blowing Rock.
