North Carolina, South Carolina: Most Affordable Beach Destinations
Summer is here, and we’re ready. Even though North Carolina and South Carolina are top travel destinations all year long, we’re still topping the list of the best summer vacation spots. A popular TV show has named North Carolina and South Carolina beaches among the most affordable beach destinations in the U.S.
The news comes from GoodMorningAmerica.com, who recently released their list of the 11 most affordable beach destinations in the U.S. “Now that summer is in full swing, soaring temps have us craving a refreshing beach with cooling breezes to beat the heat,” they state in the article. “Unfortunately, with so many Americans thinking the same thing, finding an affordable beach getaway can be difficult.” So, they conducted a “ton of research to create this list of the 11 most budget-friendly beach destinations in the U.S. Staying stateside saves you money on travel, and these locales go a step further with several value-packed hotels, inexpensive activities and cheap dining options.” They claim that all of the beaches on the list are affordable.
Most Affordable Beach Destinations:
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is ranked No. 2 on the list. “Myrtle Beach is one of the best options for a budget beach getaway in the U.S, particularly once May’s warmer weather hits,” they state. Also on the list is Folly Beach at No. 11.
As for North Carolina, Wrightsville Beach is ranked No. 5 on the list. Of the spot, the outlet states, “Wrightsville Beach is one of North Carolina’s overlooked beach destinations, which is perhaps why it’s often one of the cheapest summer getaways in the area.” They add, “Bordering South Carolina and only 20 minutes from Wilmington, Wrightsville is a relaxed beach community where most of the action takes place either on the sand or on Crystal Pier, where visitors can fish, walk, and even practice yoga.
