Taylor Hawkins’ Son Honors Dad with Drum Tribute
Taylor Hawkins’ teenage son, Shane, sat in on drums with a local Orange County, Calif. band where they performed the Foo Fighters hit “My Hero” in tribute to the late drummer.
Per Loudwire, this show took place during the July 4th weekend in Laguna Beach as part of a block party. The band performing is called The Alive, and it’s made up of three members: Guitarist/vocalist Bastian Evans, 17, and brothers Kai Neukermans, 18, and Manoa Neukermans, 14, who play drums and bass, respectively. Loudwire further noted The Alive had previously performed with Taylor Hawkins at a Chevy Metal show back in 2018.
Footage of the performance can be viewed below, with one of the clips captioned, “When Taylor Hawkins’ son get on the drums and dedicates the song ‘My Hero’ to his dad.” (Spoiler: Shane is definitely his father’s son.)
