Fayetteville Airport Resuming Flights to Dallas, Giving Away Tickets
Fayetteville will be adding a new daily flight service to Dallas, and the Fayetteville Regional Airport is celebrating with a chance to win tickets.
The airport announced Tuesday that American Airlines will start daily service to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in March. That will be the third location served out of the Fayetteville airport, joining Charlotte and Atlanta. The airport previously had flights to Washington, D.C., and has had Dallas flights in the past as well.
“We are very excited to offer this new destination and grateful for the continued support of our military and civilian communities in spite of the pandemic,” Airport Director, Dr. Toney Coleman said in a release from the City of Fayetteville. “Access to more locations and extensive terminal improvements are sure to make flying Fayetteville an even better experience in 2021.”
The current schedule has the flights from Fayetteville Regional Airport to Dallas beginning on March 5, with a daily departure time of 7:30 a.m. A return flight from Dallas is scheduled to arrive daily at 8:20 p.m.
A search of rates on American Airlines shows a round-trip flight leaving and returning on March 5, would be about $280. Most searches for weekday travel showed a round-trip fare of about $263. That rate was the exact same on searches for flights direct from Raleigh-Durham to Dallas.
“American’s newly announced service from Fayetteville to Dallas-Fort Worth International connects customers to more than 200 destinations across the globe,” said Jim Moses, American’s Incoming Vice President of DFW Hub Operations. “And as more customers choose to travel, American continues to add more flights from DFW to popular warm weather destinations throughout the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean.”
The airport said to celebrate the kickoff of the route, they’ll be teaming up with American Airlines to give away free tickets on the new route. Information on the giveaway will be available at flyfay.com soon.
