This Metal Icon is Excited to Hear Miley Cyrus’ Metallica Covers Album
Miley Cyrus told Interview Magazine last month that she was working on an album comprised of Metallica covers. This, understandably, received a lot of attention, but one metal icon is actually looking forward to this album.
In an appearance on the Life In The Stocks podcast, Rob Halford said he “can’t wait” to hear Cyrus’s Metallica covers album and added, “That’s going to be great.”
The Metal God also said of Cyrus, “She is incredible. If you think about her life in showbusiness from being a little kid, and how she’s kept her head on straight… She went a bit mad as a teenager, which you should do, that’s your right, she was expressing herself. She has an extraordinary voice.”
Cyrus, of course, has a long history of performing rock covers. She notably covered Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” during her set at 2019’s Glastonbury Festival where she also performed a snippet of Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog.” Last month, she included covers of the Cranberries’ “Zombie” and The Cure’s “Boys Don’t Cry” in her Save Our Stages set. She also performed at “I Am The Highway: A Tribute to Chris Cornell” in 2019 where she provided the vocals on the Temple of the Dog song “Say Hello 2 Heaven.”
