Dee Snider Backs Petition to Get AC/DC to Perform at the Super Bowl
Super Bowl LIV may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean Dee Snider has stopped his lobbying to get hard rock representation during next year’s halftime show.
The Twisted Sister frontman recently shared a Change.org link petitioning to get AC/DC to perform during the halftime show of next year’s Super Bowl. Snider even recorded and shared a video to his Instagram trying to sell the idea to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Jay Z, whose Roc Nation entertainment company has a partnership with the football league.
Snider made some good points why AC/DC would be a great choice for the halftime show in the video below including, “There are a lot of bands that are stadium worthy and a lot of bands that have sold hundreds of millions of records, but the one band that I think has such crossover appeal to so many people in all genres is AC/DC. You play so many of their songs at every single game – and the band is reuniting with a new album, they’re going to be touring again and they would bring down the house.”
AC/DC, of course, has been long rumored to be returning with Brian Johnson fronting the band after he exited the band in 2016 due to hearing issues. For a year and a half, rumors have circulated regarding the band that they would be touring again and releasing a new album. So far, the band has yet to comment on anything.
