Rob Halford Celebrates 34 Years of Sobriety
Some serious congratulations are in order for Judas Priest’s Rob Halford who shared he’s now 34 years sober.
The Metal God shared in a post on Facebook, “Thank you for all the sober birthday love today, maniacs. You mean the world to me and a shout out to my brothers and sisters on the same journey. One day at a time.”
The photo featured Halford showing off his new Alcoholics Anonymous coin, and many fans in the comments shared photos of their own AA coins representing various sobriety milestones.
Halford has a busy 2020 ahead of him both in and out of Judas Priest. The band is working on a new album, and Halford is releasing the memoir, Confess, in October. The book is currently available for pre-order at HachetteBooks.com.
Priest is also currently nominated for the 2020 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class, where they currently are in fifth in the Rock Hall Fan Vote. The Rock Hall fan vote lasts through January 10, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST. The top five artists from the fan vote will make up the “fans’ ballot” and be counted among the other ballots from the Rock Hall voting committee. Fans can vote for artists in three different ways:
-By searching “Vote Rock Hall 2020” or any nominee name plus “vote” on Google to cast a vote
-By voting at RockHall.com
-By voting in person at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland
