VIDEO: Jack Black on his Favorite Thing in Jack White’s House
Jack Black appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night where he was promoting his new film, Jumaji: The Next Level, and the topic of Tenacious D‘s collaboration with Jack White was brought up.
Black talked about recording the single, “Don’t Blow It, Kage,” at White’s home studio in Nashville, and he also received a tour of White’s home.
“If anyone gets the chance to go to Jack White’s house, jump on that opportuntity,” said Black. “…The thing about his place is like it’s going to Graceland. Every room has been meticulously curated with magic and humor and weirdness. While I was walking through, he said, ‘If you don’t mind, just don’t take any pictures or video.’ And I was like this is killing me. This would be the best photos and videos, but I think I know why though: He’s creating a Graceland when he dies then you’ll be allowed to go in and tour the museum of Jack White.”
Kimmel asked if Black could share any details about White’s home and he said, “Literally every square inch of that place has a moment of magic, but my favorite might have been these two taxidermied lions. Huge, powerful beasts! And in between them, there’s this gorgeous, ornate throne. And he said, ‘You can sit there. That’s where I go to read…between the lions!’ It’s so corny, it’s so cheesy, but it’s also so, so genius!”
