Tool Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 with ‘Fear Inoculum’
Tool and their new studio album, Fear Inoculum, have debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart marking their third number one album in their history.
Per Billboard, Fear Inoculum 270,000 units in its first week of release, with 248,000 of that figure coming from album sales. The sales figure is even more impressive considering the album wasn’t part of any concert ticket sale promotion or another bundle package.
Billboard also notes that the last rock album to tally a larger debut week was Dave Matthews Band with their 2018 album Come Tomorrow. While that album moved 292,000 total album units, Come Tomorrow was also part of a concert ticket sale promotion where a copy of the album was included with each ticket purchase.
Tool’s previous number one albums include 2006’s 10,000 Days and 2001’s Lateralus.
