Harley Race, we love you
While Race did stints with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW), he is best known for his time with the American Wrestling Association (AWA) and its overall governing body/promotion the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), where he was the eight-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. He would latter be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 and the NWA Hall of Fame in 2005.
Many figures in the wrestling world took to Twitter to pay their respects to the late NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
Today the world lost one of the toughest men ever to walk God's green earth.

#RIP Harley Race. This is why we should not throw the term Legend around freely. It needs to be saved for people like Harley who truly are.

An article on Harley Race should be up momentarily on the Observer site. Race & Andre & Bruno were the three top guys in the business for many years. He was fantastic in the ring, and immensely respected outside of it.
