Chris Cornell Estate in Legal Dispute Over Daughter’s College Tuition
The estate of Chris Cornell is facing some legal issues regarding the college tuition for his eldest daughter, Lilly.
Per TMZ, Lilly has filed a claim for asking for money to cover “college and other expenses.” Lilly is the daughter from Cornell’s marriage to ex-wife Susan Silver, and in their divorce settlement, Cornell agreed to pay for Lilly’s college education through a trust, which is run by Cornell’s widow, Vicky.
The issue at hand reportedly is that while Lilly did receive money for her tuition, she had dropped out of college the first week of her second semester and did not disclose she dropped out.
Vicky Cornell’s attorney, Marty Singer, said in a statement to TMZ, “We are shocked that Lilly filed a claim in probate court since for over 2 years Vicky, with no legal obligation to do so, paid all of Chris’ remaining child support despite it being questionable Vicky even owed same, as well as 80% of the required educational expenses for Lilly, including a request by Lilly to pay college tuition this semester when she failed to disclose she had dropped out.”
