Bruce Springsteen Announces First New Studio Album in Five Years
Bruce Springsteen will be releasing a new solo studio album, Western Stars, on June 14. It is The Boss’ first new studio release in five years.
Per Springsteen’s official website, the 13-track album is heavily inspired by late ’60s and early ’70s Southern California pop records and covers “a sweeping range of American themes, of highways and desert spaces, of isolation and community and the permanence of home and hope.”
In a statement about the record, Springsteen said, “This record is a return to my solo recordings featuring character driven songs and sweeping, cinematic orchestral arrangements. It’s a jewel box of a record.”
The album’s first single and music video, “Hello Sunshine,” will be released tonight (April 25) shortly after midnight.
Western Stars will be available for pre-order beginning Friday, April 26. A full track listing for the album can be viewed below.
