ICYMI: Brian May Releases New Solo Track “New Horizons”
Brian May is already having an out of this world 2019.
The Queen guitarist released “New Horizons,” his first solo track since 1998, on New Year’s Day. The track serves as a tribute to NASA’s New Horizons mission and premiered from NASA’s Maryland headquarters. The track is the perfect partnership for May, who has a doctorate in astrophysics.
The New Horizons mission, itself, saw a NASA spacecraft flyby Ultima Thule, the most-distant object in space to ever be visited by humankind. May playfully said in a press conference, “This is probably going to be hard, because I can’t think of anything that rhymes with Ultima Thule.”
Despite that rhyme problem, May more than managed to write a great song.
