Not So Fast on That Van Halen Reunion with Michael Anthony
Looks like those rumors on Michael Anthony returning to Van Halen for a big tour might just be…well, rumors.
Premiere Radio Networks reached out to Anthony for comment on buzz about him getting back together with Van Halen, and he responded with, “The only comment I have is that I haven’t spoken to any of the guys since we last played together back in 2004.” Anthony also mentioned that the only contact he’s had with VH was speaking on the phone with Alex Van Halen “a few years back,” but it was just small talk and nothing to do with the band.
It would make sense that Anthony wouldn’t be joining VH again. Sammy Hagar mentioned in a Facebook video recently that his band, The Circle, which features Anthony, will be releasing a new album in 2019, and new albums often mean some sort of tour.
Well, this is at least good news for Eddie Van Halen’s son, Wolfgang, who infamously replaced Anthony in 2006 when he was just 15. He at least still has a job and hasn’t been fired by his dad. Yay for that? (Sorry, not sorry. You try finding a silver lining to this story!)
