Rock Hall Round-Up: 2019 Class Reacts to their Induction
As expected, the classic rock artists that were announced as part of the 2019 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were very excited about their upcoming inductions.
Stevie Nicks
Nicks kept it short, but very sweet, saying, “I have a lot to say about this, but I will save those words for later. For now I will just say, I have been in a band since 1968. To be recognized for my solo work makes me take a deep breath and smile. It’s a glorious feeling.”

We hope she’ll save all of those words for her induction speech. That one will surely be a highlight of the induction ceremony.
Def Leppard
First-ballot inductees Def Leppard shared the below video thanking everyone who voted for them and confirmed they will be at the ceremony in March.
The Zombies
Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone of The Zombies each shared their own statements, with Argent saying, “I know it’s fashionable in some circles to say, ‘I don’t mind whether I get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or not, but that is not how I’ve ever felt. When we were first nominated, that felt like a huge honor in its own right. And this time to turn the corner and get inducted, feels fantastic…I’m just so delighted.”
Blunstone concurred and said, “You do start to doubt that it could happen. I’ve tried to be fairly philosophical about it and tell myself that if we don’t get inducted, it’s just a bit of fun. Don’t take it too seriously. But of course when you’re actually inducted, everything changes. You think, ‘This is a career-defining [and] life-defining moment.’”
The Zombies have been eligible for years, and their influence is among the most underrated in rock. This honor is incredibly long overdue and much deserved.
Roxy Music
Brian Ferry released the following statement on Roxy Music’s induction: “We are delighted to accept this prestigious award on behalf of everyone who has been involved in the world of Roxy Music – musicians, engineers, producers, designers and numerous people behind the scenes…and of course our loyal fans.”
