Robbery Alert Fayetteville PD
Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department would like to alert the public regarding an increase in business robberies along the Morganton Road, Yadkin Road, and Reilly Road corridors.
Detectives are currently investigating seven (7) reported robberies that have occurred through July 4 – 28, 2018. Detectives are currently investigating any potential connections between the robberies. Robbery Detectives want to inform the public on this increase, and remind businesses of some robbery prevention tips.
Reported Robbery locations:
- July 4, 2018 – KY Mini Mart – 500 block of S Reilly Road
- July 5, 2018 – Papa Johns – 400 block of Botany Court
- July 12, 2018 – Asian Express – 500 block of S Reilly Road
- July 17, 2018 – Dollar General – 200 block of Bonanza Drive
- July 18, 2018 – Scotchman – 6000 block of Morganton Road
- July 24, 2018 – Scotchman – 6000 block of Morganton Road
- July 28, 2018 – Speedway – 5000 block of Yadkin Road
Robbery Safety / Crime Prevention Tips:
– Keep the front doors and windows clear of signs and posters to allow well, two way visibility.
– Keep the outside of the business well lit at night.
– Advertise outside that you keep a minimal amount of cash in the register and that you do not accept large bills.
– Practice good cash control.
– Always have at least two clerks working at night.
– Vary your times and routes to the bank.
– Use video surveillance and make it known.
– Have a panic button installed near the register.
– Keep side and back doors locked, according to fire codes.
– As always, report suspicious activity by calling 911.
