AUDIO: Ann Wilson’s Cover of Audioslave’s “I Am The Highway”
On Ann Wilson’s upcoming covers album Immortal, she pays tribute to her friend and fellow Seattle icon Chris Cornell with a cover of Audioslave’s “I Am The Highway.” In the lead-up to its September 14 release, Wilson is offering up this track as the first preview.
“It’s a song about a person who refuses to be tied down by the mundane, who is constantly looking for freedom and independence on a much more universal scale, not just the ordinary, every day tied down type reality,” said Wilson on your YouTube channel. “I think it showed Chris best as a singer, too. Just that strong, passionate, masculine voice he had that was just a cry of a soul.”
Wilson definitely puts her own unique spin on “I Am The Highway” and is for sure a fitting tribute from one iconic voice to another.
A limited amount of autographed CDs of Immortal are currently available for pre-order at AnnWilsonOfHeart.com.
