Paul McCartney’s ‘Egypt Station’ Due Out September 7
Well…that escalated quickly!
After a number of teases for the past two weeks, Paul McCartney made things official and announced his new studio album, Egypt Station, will be coming out September 7, which is the icon’s first new studio album since 2013’s NEW. This comes on the heels of yesterday’s announcement of the release of Sir Paul’s double A-Side single “I Don’t Know” and “Come On To Me,” which are out today.
In a statement on the album’s title, which shares its name from one of his own paintings, McCartney said, “I liked the words ‘Egypt Station.’ It reminded me of the ‘album’ albums we used to make.., Egypt Station starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from.”
Egypt Station is available for pre-order through various digital platforms here and at PaulMcCartney.com where fans will find exclusive album bundles.
