Four Police Officers Shot Overnight In South Carolina
Several police officers in South Carolina were shot overnight after responding to a domestic situation.
A call for help came in shortly after 10 p.m. last night in a nice neighborhood in York County.
When officers arrived on scene, the suspect exited the home after assaulting a female.
According to WCNC, officers brought in K9 units to search of the suspect.
Nearly three hours after the call for help was received, the first officer was struck while closing in on the suspect.
The officer was transported to the hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
Additional units were brought in to track the suspect down and during the search, three more officers were shot at around 3:30 a.m. this morning.
At this time, the extent of their injuries are not known. Three of the officers are employed with the York County Sheriff’s Office and the other is a SWAT member with the York County Police Department.
The suspect, Christian Thomas McCall, was taken into custody after being shot by police. Reports on Twitter indicate he also shot at a search helicopter last night. Luckily, no one inside was injured.
